Held in 2017 and held every two years, the "China Good Handicraft Exhibition" is a major measure to promote the improvement of the skill level of my country's handicraft practitioners, and to promote the integration of excellent cultural traditions and the spirit of the times.

As early as March 2019, the solicitation of exhibits at the second "China Good Art Exhibition" was in full swing. Through author self-recommendation, field collection, expert recommendation and other forms, a total of nearly 2,000 works from more than 1,000 authors were collected. It demonstrates the new forms, new aesthetics, and new vitality that the handicraft of the new era should have. After preliminary evaluation and re-evaluation, a total of 100 pieces (sets) of selected works were selected.

What kind of work is a good one? "China Good Handicrafts Exhibition" puts forward four kinds of references to be used when selecting good works: beautiful materials, skillful craftsmanship, charm and fashion. And Wu Yaohui's boxwood sculpture "Spring Manchurian Sky" perfectly fits these four requirements:

Spring sky

Design creation: Wu Yaohui
Material: Boxwood
Specification: 45*22*105cm

The work tightly captures the characteristics of spring and combines with the dynamics of the human body to form a chic sculpture. It mainly depicts three outstanding women, dancing in the vertical flying ribbon, presenting a beautiful picture. Before emphasizing the accuracy of the human body proportion and structure, the artistic image has a delicate, full and vivid visual effect.

Material
Huang Yang's rhythm, shocking display
In terms of wood carvings that represent female figures, the gentle and delicate boxwood is undoubtedly one of the most suitable materials. The smooth wood, delicate texture and solemn color of the material are very suitable for the expression of the delicate and smooth skin texture of young women, giving the female image a unique softness. In addition, the light wood presents the lustrous texture and lightness of silk, expressing the "anti-gravity" flying state of the ribbon and realizing the discovery and presentation of the beauty of the material.
Skillful
Craftsmanship according to talents
Master Wu Yaohui flexibly mastered and used the traditional boxwood wood carving techniques. The knife technique was simple and round, delicate and smooth. The characters had both form and spirit, and the structure was virtual and real. With a realistic approach, it explains the beauty of the human body and brings a full and vivid visual effect. The perspective, level, depth, handover, and ups and downs of the work are vivid and vivid, showing the sculptor's profound carving skills and realizing the perfect fusion of materials and skills.

Instrument rhyme
Formed like a god foot, like a natural
The girl's carcass beauty is the most beautiful in the universe. The so-called beauty is expressed through beautiful posture and eyes. The whole work is perfect. The smooth lines and flexible gestures seem to be injected into life. They seem to move and perfectly show the curvy beauty of the girl's figure. In addition, the addition of fluttering long hair and the cover of the dripping silk, also enhanced the meaning of the work, perfectly showing the charming of the spring, becoming a full-bodied artwork.

Time
The system changes at any time and is suitable
Art is an endless return and re-start. A work is excellent and easy, but a work can adapt to changes in lifestyle, and it is difficult to do with a distinctive sense of the times. And Master Wu Yaohui's "Spring Mantian" has reached the "time suitable" state. While highlighting traditional skills, it also has the charm of contemporary sculpture. Combining tradition and modernity, it forms a woodcarving work full of vitality.

From August 2nd to August 11th, 2019, "Spring Sky" will be officially unveiled at the National Art Museum of China. This summer will see you all!
