Copper is a non-ferrous metal that has a close relationship with humans and is widely used in all walks of life. Bronze has been widely used in people's lives. From ancient times to the present, various bronzes glowed with brilliance and were widely loved by everyone. An exquisite copper carving handicraft can release a huge, quiet power, and comb the most bland days into a poetic landscape.

However, the maintenance of bronzes is a headache for people. The bronzes have been placed for a long time, because of the material, they will appear dull or even rusty. How should the bronzes be properly maintained? Don't worry, the following Hongxin sculpture will answer you in detail.

01 Is there any requirement for the environment where the copper is placed?

For copperware, it is best to put it in a dry environment without dust and air pollutants. The temperature is 18℃-24℃ and the relative humidity is 40%-50%. Indoor house is the best choice.

Infrequently used copperware can be placed on a dry and ventilated rack or can often be seen in order to remind yourself to maintain in time.

02 What should I pay attention to when moving?

It is necessary to prevent exposure to harmful chemical substances produced by copper crafts, such as acids, grease, chloride, etc. Red copper relief should be the most attention. It is best to wear cotton gloves when moving copper artwork. Do not touch it directly with your hands to avoid being corroded by sweat on your hands. Nor can it be packed with oiled paper or boxes.

It is necessary to prevent copper crafts from being mechanically damaged. They should not collide with each other, and should not be stacked on top of each other. For crafts that are refined and easily damaged, more care must be taken for maintenance.

03 What to do if the bronze is dirty?

For the dust on the copper, you can blow it with cold wind and electric hair, then clean it with a straw brush, and finally use a soft brush to finish it. Never use metal polish or any other solvent. For gaps, you can use cotton with saliva Wet the ball and wipe it again, along the crack from beginning to end to avoid missing.

Usually it is best to wipe it regularly to keep it clean to increase the beauty and dignity.

04 What should I pay attention to when washing bronzes?

Bronze should be washed with water as much as possible. If you need to wash with water, you must use distilled water. You can also warm distilled water and use neutral soap. Ammonium hydroxide, acids, white powder, gauze, etc. cannot be used.

The cleaned copper crafts should be dried in time. The original method is to apply a layer of chemical protective agent or a layer of paraffin after heating. The modern method is to apply a layer of silicone seal to prevent harmful gases and moisture.

05 What to do if the copper is dark?

After the copper is placed for too long, some dullness will appear more or less depending on the environment in which it is placed. Oxidized into black copper oxide and copper sulfide are the main reasons why it becomes dark. At this time, you can gently wipe back and forth with a fine cloth of cotton silk to achieve the effect of polishing, or scrub the surface of the dark copperware with cotton dipped in concentrated ammonia, which can also make the copperware glow again.

06 What to do if the brass is rusted?

Here are five recommended ways to remove rust:

1. Kerosene and dentifrice derusting method: first wipe with kerosene in cloth, then wipe with dentifrice to remove copper rust.

2. Vinegar de-embroidering method: The green patina on copper utensils can be dipped in cloth with vinegar, and then wiped with appropriate amount of salt or cuttlefish bone powder to remove.

3. Sea salt derusting method: If the corrosion on the copper utensils is very serious, the sea salt can be melted in the molten wax and wiped with this solution to eliminate the copper rust.

4. Lemon juice derusting method: If the copper utensils are rusted, you can wipe them with lemon juice and salt. If you want to make it brighter, you can wipe with cigarette paper or sawdust and some salt. The effect is very good.

5. Talc powder, fine wood derusting method: use 160 grams of fine wood, 60 grams of talc powder, 240 cocoa bran together, pour about 50 grams of vinegar, mix into a paste, and coat it with rusty copper After the wind dries, the copper rust can be removed.

Proper use and proper maintenance can prolong the service life of copperware. In addition, the high-quality copperware can withstand the pressure of changes over time.

Under the leadership of Wu Yaohui, a master of Chinese arts and crafts, Hongxin sculpture has undergone the test of complex processes in every piece of bronze. It is the persistence of traditional craftsmanship and the inheritance of the spirit of craftsmen. The quality is trustworthy!
